Does Simpson re-line helmets?
Yes. The helmet must be Snell 2005 to be relined. $125.00 charge for SA rated helmets, $100.00 charge for M & K rated helmets. Helmets must pass inspection by our technicians before we replace the liner. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer.

How do I measure my head for a helmet?
Using a cloth tape measure, measure around the head , beginning right above the brow. Refer to our size chart for conversions in both hat sizing and XS-XL.

How should my helmet fit?
Your helmet should fit tightly to your head without being uncomfortable. You helmet should be well seated at the crown and you should feel contact with even pressure around your head.

How are helmets rated?
Simpson certifies helmets to both the Snell and SFI standards. The most current Snell rating is 2005. SA stands for Special Application. SA rated helmets are used in competitive automobile racing and require a fire retardant rating. Auto racing helmets are rated as either M, SA or K. M stands for Motorcycle or motorized vehicles. M rated helmets are used for motorized highway vehicles and for racing that does not require a fire retardant rating.
K rated helmets are used for Karting applications and are not required to be fire retardant. Please refer to your sanctioning body rulebook.

When should I replace my helmet?
Snell recommends that you replace it every five years. Your helmet should be inspected by a professional following any impact. Remember, you only have one head and racing is a dangerous sport. If you are in doubt regarding your helmet’s performance and integrity, get a new one.

Does Simpson install HANS clips on our helmets?
Yes. On new full face helmets, please order at time of purchase. There is an installation fee.
